Unique Massillon, Ohio Engagement Pictures

I'm so excited to share Mary and Cory's unique engagement pictures with you!! First, some back story...

We originally planned to have this engagement session at a park near Mary and Cory's house, but we started out in their backyard to get a few pictures with their dogs, which had us frozen already. With the chilly temps and the killer wind, we knew shooting outside for longer than 2 minutes at a time would be impossible. So at that point we started thinking of some last-minute indoor solutions that we could use that were in the area. Then, Mary mentioned Walmart - in a kind of joking way. But then, she said that Walmart was where they met.... and at that moment I knew we could pull off a shoot a Walmart! We talked a little bit more about it, and we decided to go for it. We also decided to stop at Starbucks, of course in Massillon it's right across the street from Walmart - so it worked out perfectly!

Seriously, I realize that an engagement shoot at Walmart might not be at the top of every couples's to-do list. But try to keep an open mind... after all it's not about where the photo is taken, it's about what's in the photo - and I had an adorable couple that I could have shot anywhere and ended up with gorgeous images. AND WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! We knew going into it that we were going to get lots of strange looks - and we did! I think people thought we were CRAZY (especially when I crawled into one of the shelves down an aisle to shoot Mary and Cory through some paper towel rolls - people really gave me the side eye in that aisle!). But we got beautiful pictures out of it - and better yet, we were at the exact location that Mary and Cory met, so it tells their story!! After all, the whole purpose of engagement pictures is to tell a couple's story, right?! 

I loved stepping outside of the box for this one... so thank you Mary and Cory for being awesome and willing to try something unique!

Stopped in for some love at Starbucks...

Don't let the sunshine fool you... we were freezing our butts off to get these couple shots! 

We started out in the Pet Food aisle at Walmart to represent their love for animals...

Then we headed to the cards so Mary & Cory could pick some out that represent who they are.

(ps. Cory LOVES peanut butter and jelly!)

This was GREAT! So, the backstory here is, Mary had her eye on Cory after spotting him for the first time in the Walmart parking lot, and she checked him out a bit in the store before approaching him. They officially met in the adult beverages aisle when Mary started a conversation with Cory. So, she wanted to do some role playing of her standing back creeping up on him while he's shopping - it was a lot of fun to recreate! 

This is where I got the most strange looks of all...

And finally, the gorgeous sun setting over the parking lot!! It was freezing for these too, but totally worth it!

Who knew the Walmart Parking lot could look this good... am I right?!!
