8 Reasons to do a "First Look" at Your Wedding

Brides are always curious about a First Look - and we are huge supporters of it. If we had it our way, every couple would do a First Look at their wedding! Are you not quite sure what a First Look is? Well, put simply, it's a planned moment before the ceremony where the Bride and Groom get to see each other for the first time. This can be private or with friends/family around (usually it's private and the photographer will hide a bit out of the way).

And this is what happens:

Here are the reasons we believe every couple should do a first look:

1. YOU REALLY DO GET TO SEE EACH OTHER FIRST

2. YOU GET TO SHOW YOUR TRUE REACTIONS

3. IT'S SUPER ROMANTIC AND EMOTIONAL

4. YOU'LL GET MORE PICTURES!!

5. YOU CAN SPEND MORE TIME WITH YOUR GUESTS

6. IT WILL CALM YOUR NERVES

7. YOU CAN BE MORE IN THE MOMENT ALL DAY

8. And best of all.... IT'S STILL A SURPRISE!! (you just don't have to share it with a room full of people staring at you!) 

The number one reason I get from couples to not participate in a First Look is that they say they want to be surprised. You will still be surprised! But a First Look gives you a romantic moment to share together before you have to share it with everyone else. Also, I would like to point out that every couple who has done one says it takes nothing away from seeing each other at the end of the aisle. That moment is still exciting and emotional in its own right.... but having First Look gives couples some time to be in the moment with each other privately first. No putting on a show for guests and no standing up and reciting vows first... just time to tell each other how much you love each other and how you really feel in that moment.

It's basically the best thing ever!
